Anonymous asked: Darling Maria, Would you have any advice for people that feel like they just don't belong. I guess this feeling has been lurking in me lately. Much Love✨💜

Dearest, it is perfectly natural to feel misplaced and misunderstood. I’m sorry for all the people who have never experienced this kind of feeling once in their lifetime; they’re still “in Plato’s cave”. But you must make sure that this feeling doesn’t last forever. At some point, you’ll need to be aware of your differences and learn how to embrace them and how to manipulate them in order to fit in (but just in the sufficient amount). You’ll need to feel comfortable with yourself, find people like you. Your feeling shows that you are not fitting the outside reality, nor fitting your own reality. You should belong. Feeling comfortable with yourself is the first step. You are the author of your odyssey, you can’t expect people to change for you. You can’t expect the past to match your future because death and life can’t match. One doesn’t exist in the presence of another. You need to accept the past and make your new present. I can assure you only one thing: you are exactly where you should be right now, but the present situation should not compromise the future. You can create the person who will be waiting for you at the end of the line in 10, 20, 30, 40 years. And, above all, does your feeling of not belonging means to you that you want to belong, you want to fit in? That is up to you. But remember that ”normality is a paved road: It’s comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it.” I hope I’m not confusing!
